Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for obstetric patients and related groups using established nursing processes.
- Monitor maternal status and fetal well-being; administer medications and treatments per plan; respond to changes in patient condition.
- Collect relevant data, analyze findings, and develop and implement care plans; coordinate with the care team and adjust plans as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary staff to ensure safe, effective delivery of care; participate in discharge planning to support continuity of care.
- Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, medications, and post-discharge care; delegate appropriately and supervise assigned nursing staff.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and healing environment; ensure accurate documentation and adherence to infection prevention and patient safety standards.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in California (state of practice).
- CPR/BLS certification from an approved vendor; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required.
- BSN degree preferred; ADN acceptable with relevant experience.
- At least two years of recent nursing experience in obstetric/gynecology or a related acute care setting; acute care facility experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and meet the day shift requirements (7:00 AM–7:00 PM); willingness to comply with facility vaccination policies as applicable.
