Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adults and geriatrics diagnosed with cancer within the radiation oncology outpatient infusion/procedural unit.
- Support radiation therapy procedures, including SpacerOAR, injections, and hydration, alongside standard IV/port access care.
- Maintain accurate EPIC documentation for patient assessments, treatments, and progress; ensure chart integrity and compliance with care plans.
- Monitor patient status, manage post-procedure needs, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team (Phlebotomy, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, Rapid Response, Interpretation Services, Unit Secretary).
- Oversee patient flow for approximately 10 visits per day across 7 rooms; uphold safety, infection control, and quality standards; may float within hospital within scope of practice.
- Participate in orientation activities and ongoing competency requirements, including HealthStream modules as assigned.

Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Current New York RN license at time of submission; Nursys verification required; BLS certification; EPIC charting experience.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; IV and port access experience required; previous charge experience preferred; travel nursing experience preferred but not required.
- Education: Nursing degree (RN); eligible for licensure in New York.
- Additional: Must be able to work in an adult/geriatric oncology setting; ability to perform radiation oncology–related procedures; HealthStream modules to be completed by 7:00 a.m. the Wednesday prior to start (approx. 12–15 hours).
- Compliance and restrictions: Local candidates within 50 miles of Saratoga Springs are not accepted (counties include Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster).
- Immunizations/Vaccines: Flu vaccine required for flu season; exemptions considered with approvals; COVID-19 vaccine not required.
- Logistics: Submit required certifications and professional references prior to start.
