Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and adherence to sterile technique.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate tasks appropriately within the perioperative team.
- Coordinate care with other disciplines (surgeons, anesthesia, perioperative techs, support services) to maintain flow and optimize outcomes.
- Utilize critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making in routine and emergent perioperative situations.
- Document accurately and communicate patient status, care plans, and any deviations to the surgical team and appropriate stakeholders.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- OR nursing experience or demonstrated exposure to the operating room environment
- Ability to work in an operating room setting with adherence to safety, infection control, and procedural standards
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or eligibility
- Ability to meet credentialing requirements and pass standard background checks as part of the assignment
- Eligible to travel and commit to a 13-week assignment with the specified start date
