Shift: Mondays & Fridays | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM EST (14 hours/week)
Pay Rate: $726.88 / day
Are you an experienced Travel RN passionate about pediatric care and community health? We are seeking a flexible, skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – School Nurse for a day-shift assignment in Montpelier, VT.
In this role, you will deliver comprehensive nursing care to students, manage chronic and acute health conditions, conduct health screenings, and partner with educators and families to foster a safe, healthy learning environment.
Direct Care & Triage: Provide immediate, high-quality nursing care for acute illnesses, injuries, and emergencies occurring on campus.
Medication & Care Plans: Administer prescribed medications, oversee treatment schedules, and manage individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions or special needs.
Health Screenings & Compliance: Coordinate immunization records, execute health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.), and manage community referrals in compliance with state standards.
Education & Promotion: Educate students, families, and school personnel on health promotion, disease prevention, and hygiene practices.
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely documentation of student visits, treatments, and incident reports in the electronic health record (EHR) and school health logs.
Community Collaboration: Liaise with local health departments, primary care providers, and families to coordinate care and track vaccination compliance.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted with prior school health or pediatric experience.
Active, unrestricted RN License in the state of Vermont (or active multistate/compact license).
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or School Health Nurse certification preferred.
Prior nursing experience in pediatrics, school health, or community health nursing.
Proficiency with EHR systems and standardized health record-keeping.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
Strong organizational skills and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Certified School Nurse (CSN) or Pediatric Nursing Certification (CPN).
Bilingual skills (Spanish or other languages).
