Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess patient status, develop and adjust care plans, administer medications and treatments per orders, and monitor patient responses.
- Coordinate care with physicians and other disciplines, utilizing critical thinking, professional judgment, and supervisory discretion.
- Monitor telemetry data and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, maintaining patient safety and comfort.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff on the unit as assigned, and ensure accurate documentation and adherence to policies.
Note: This department only includes education and non-productive hours of Float Pool nurses. Float Pool nurses working a unit should always clock in to the unit being worked.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license required
- Hospital-based clinical nursing experience
- Ability to work nights and 12-hour shifts (3x12s) and adapt to assignment needs
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a Telemetry-oriented unit and follow unit policies and procedures
- Credentialing and onboarding eligibility for travel assignments
