Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians and other health care providers to coordinate patient care from referral/consultation through discharge and follow-up.
- Coordinate and oversee scheduling for consultations, diagnostic tests, and treatment procedures; assist with pre-authorization processes as needed.
- Gather history and physical information; perform and document nursing evaluations and assessments; assist in ordering labs, imaging, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Educate patients and families in medical care, in collaboration with surgeons and physicians; participate in patient rounds and case conferences; contribute to development of patient/family educational materials.
- Maintain current clinical knowledge through ongoing education, literature review, and formal/informal education; lead process-improvement activities related to skin and wound care quality.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- BLS certification
- Wound ostomy and continence certification not required
- 1–3 years related work experience preferred
- Epic experience required
- Proficiency with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Ability to work in an acute, inpatient care setting
- Must not have worked perm/travel/PRN for Beth Israel facilities within the past 6 months
