Job Summary: Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) - Henrico County, VA. This role involves providing respiratory therapy services for pediatric patients in a high-volume, fast-paced unit. The position requires a focus on delivering quality care utilizing advanced equipment and adhering to clinical protocols within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Job Details:
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Current Respiratory Therapist (RT) credential, current Virginia State License, current Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an intensive care unit (ICU), proficiency with nebulizers, BIPAP/CPAP, ventilators, arterial blood gases, and blood gas machines
Additional Information: Unit information includes 430 beds with approximately 25 staff members. Typical patient treatment rounds involve 20-25 treatments. Equipment used includes oxygen therapy devices, BIPAP/CPAP machines, ventilators, nebulizers, and blood gas analyzers. The EMR system utilized is Meditech. The environment is fast-paced, suited for candidates who thrive under pressure. Rotating weekends and approximately one 24-hour on-call shift every 5-6 weeks are required.
