Schedule: 36 Hours per Week

Job Overview

Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week travel assignment. This position is ideal for an RT with strong adult critical care experience who is comfortable working in a Level II Trauma Center while providing respiratory care to patients across the lifespan, including neonatal and pediatric populations. The successful candidate will work independently under respiratory care protocols while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, evaluate, and provide respiratory therapy treatments for patients ranging from infants to geriatrics.
  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, inhaled therapies, and advanced respiratory treatments.
  • Manage invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation, including ventilator setup, monitoring, troubleshooting, and weaning.
  • Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and interpretation.
  • Assist with intubations, extubations, bronchoscopy procedures, airway management, and emergency respiratory interventions.
  • Respond to rapid response events and respiratory emergencies throughout the hospital.
  • Transport mechanically ventilated patients safely within the facility and during ambulance transports when required.
  • Document all patient care accurately using the Epic electronic medical record.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) experience.
  • Community hospital experience (Required).
  • Epic EMR experience (Required).
  • Teaching hospital experience (Preferred).
  • Trauma Level I or Level II experience (Preferred).
  • Previous travel experience is not required.

Required Licensure & Certifications

  • Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS (American Heart Association)
  • PALS (American Heart Association)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
