Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift block travel position at a critical access hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and a WA state RT license in hand

Details

• Critical access hospital setting with 23 total staff beds
• Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 18:00-6:30
• Block schedule required
• Weekend rotation required every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• May float to a sister facility approximately 25 minutes away and to Providence Mount Carmel Colville
• Uses Epic charting system
• Scrubs may be any color

Requirements

• Active WA state or Compact RRT license required in hand at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• BLS and RRT certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Experience with adult critical care and emergency department settings
• Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience with oxygen therapy delivery methods including HFNC and trach collar
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care services including airway management, ventilator management, and oxygen therapy
• Perform sputum specimen collection and tracheostomy care/management
• Work as part of a respiratory therapy team with only one RT scheduled per shift
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region
• Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• RTO must be requested and approved at time of submittal; post-submittal RTO requests will not be granted
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates are accepted at a lower rate within a 50-mile radius
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities as permanent, travel, or per-diem staff
