Job Summary: Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) is sought for a facility located in Portland, Maine. The position involves providing respiratory therapy services across various pediatric and adult acute and critical care units. The therapist will work within a dynamic team to deliver high-quality patient care in a tertiary, teaching hospital environment.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shift times are from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification are preferred. Candidate must have 3 or more years of experience, including acute care pediatrics, adult critical care, NICU, and emergency department settings.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a tertiary, teaching hospital environment; NICU/PICU experience is highly desirable.
Float: Float rotation may be required, covering NICU, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, adult acute care, and emergency departments.
Additional Information: The position involves working with a team of 14-16 respiratory therapists, utilizing equipment such as Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30 and V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm. The facility has varied bed counts depending on daily assignments, with patient ratios of approximately 1:25 for acute care and 1:8 for critical care. The role requires flexibility, strong communication skills, and a team-oriented attitude. Dress code accommodates provided or flexible scrub colors.
