Job Summary:
A Respiratory Therapist (Registered) located in Billings, Montana, provides advanced respiratory care to pediatric and adult patients within the organization. The position involves performing diagnostic testing, administering therapies, educating patients and families, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The role serves as a resource to staff and may include responsibilities such as clinical projects, departmental collaboration, and potential float to other units. This position is scheduled for night shifts with a minimum commitment of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of a NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution; current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: N/A
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Performs, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic testing procedures, including arterial gases. Initiates, monitors, and troubleshoots respiratory equipment and protocols. Administers medications safely, evaluates effects, and communicates patient progress to the healthcare team. Educates patients and families on self-care techniques. Completes accurate documentation and monitors supplies. Participates in departmental meetings, quality improvement, and patient safety activities. May be required to float to other departments and to be placed on-call during scheduled shifts. Performs other duties as assigned.
