Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of experience and NRP certification for a night shift NICU position at a birthing hospital.

Details

• Level 2 and 3 NICU/Special Care Nursery at a birthing hospital
• May consider some pediatric experience but NICU experience is required
• Rotating or all-night 12-hour shift position, 36 hours per week
• Every third weekend rotation
• No floating or charge responsibilities required

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• RRT certification required
• Minimum 2 years of related work experience required
• CPR-AHA and NRP certification required
• Certified to manage artificial airways, mechanical ventilation, administer aerosolized medications, and provide oxygen therapy
• Delivery room experience preferred
• License required if applicable
• Flu vaccine required, especially during flu season
• COVID vaccine and booster required (medical exemptions allowed)

Additional Information

• Performs and interprets tests and procedures to assess and manage patient care in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members
• Works autonomously in a variety of clinical settings including administration of respiratory care protocols
• Weekly orientation held every Monday, barring holidays
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Local candidates will not be accepted
• Previous employees (travel, perm, or per diem) must have a 6-month break from any Beth Israel Lahey Health facility before returning
• All RTO requests must be submitted at time of consideration
