Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with 2+ years of pediatric experience for a Level III trauma center within a large health system.

Details

• Short term acute care Level III trauma center with 252 staffed beds
• Pediatric respiratory care unit
• Day and evening shifts (4x10 hours)
• Weekend rotation at least every other weekend and every other holiday
• Holiday coverage required at least every other holiday
• Floating to an affiliate hospital as needed
• Uses Epic for charting
• Part of a large multi-hospital health system

Requirements

• CT and RI state licenses required; can start with one active and one pending
• License required if applicable
• BLS certification required
• CRT certification required
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• Pediatric experience required
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric equipment including Bubble CPAP, CPAP/BiPAP, and umbilical blood gases preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
• Experience with high-risk delivery assistance and intubation assist preferred
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients including ventilator management, airway clearance, and oxygen therapy
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal/pediatric procedures as needed
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary respiratory care team
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious/medical exemption only
• Free parking provided on site
• Travelers must participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles of the facility
• Returning staff must be separated for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
