Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: RRT Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Texas respiratory license Certifications: BLS, NBRCT Must-Have: - Adult ICU respiratory therapist experience - Team leader experience Description: The unit has a total of 260 beds. There are 22 staff members on the team. The staffing requirement includes 1 team lead and 2 respiratory therapists on the day shift and a minimum of 1 team lead and 2 respiratory therapists on the night shift. Patient ratios range from 30 to 45 points. Equipment used includes GE860s, Hamilton C1s, and Philips V60s. The electronic medical record system is Meditech. The ideal candidate will be skilled in adult ICU respiratory therapy. Candidates without the required skills will not be considered for the role. Preferred qualifications include experience in the ICU and emergency room, as well as ACLS certification. Typical procedures performed on the unit include arterial blood gas sampling, bronchoscopy, and patient transport. The best personality fit for this role is outgoing and hardworking. The dress code requires black scrub pants and an olive green scrub shirt. Weekend shifts will be on a rotating basis.
