Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Respiratory Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year License: RRT, licensed with the Missouri Board for Respiratory Care Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only Must-Have Skills/Experience: Adult critical care experience High volume busy emergency department with trauma experience Description: Flu vaccination and a facility-approved exemption are required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1. Position available for a registered respiratory therapist with a focus on adult critical care and emergency services. The position requires a nighttime shift of three 12-hour shifts per week. The assignment length is for 13 weeks with guaranteed weekly hours of 36. Additional weekend hours may be required by the facility. Call requirements will also be established by the facility. Preferred certification includes PALS. The unit has a capacity of 767 beds. Patient ratios are based on a point system and depend on staffing availability. The equipment utilized includes Avea ventilators, LTV transport, V60 BiPAP, Vapo therm, and Airvo for high flow oxygen therapy. Experience with blood gas draw, processing, and interpretation is preferred. The therapist will work with respiratory patients across various areas of the facility, including intensive care and emergency services. A strong, confident therapist with effective time management skills is desired, who is willing to assist coworkers when possible. The dress code mandates black scrubs, adhering to the facility's standard. No other attire is acceptable.
