Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - NICU Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: CRT NICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum of 2 years as a registered respiratory therapist in Adult Critical Care and NICU. - Completed 1 prior travel assignment. License: - MD State Licensure required. Certifications: - BLS - CRT - ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Experience in ED preferred. - Comfortable drawing and analyzing ABGs. - Familiarity with Draeger and Servo ventilators. Description: The respiratory therapist will be responsible for providing care in a neonatal intensive care unit. The therapist will perform airway management and suctioning procedures, including endotracheal tube placement and extubation. Experience with pulmonary hygiene and sputum specimen collection is required. The candidate must assist in high-risk deliveries and interpret umbilical blood gases. Skills in managing aerosol therapies and using high-flow nasal cannula are essential. The therapist should be adept at weaning patients from mechanical ventilation and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms. The role may require floating between adult and neonatal patient populations. Bronchoscopy experience and familiarity with advanced respiratory therapies are preferred. Comfort with performing tracheostomy care and managing trach collars is necessary. The candidate will be involved in various respiratory diagnostic services and procedures throughout the unit.
