Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: RRT Duration: 24 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:30 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum of 1 year preferred; first-time travelers accepted License: Required state license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Trauma experience required; experience with pulmonary function testing preferred Description: Minimum experience of 1 year is required, although first-time travelers are accepted. The patient population ranges from infants to geriatrics, with a primary focus on adults, but you will also work with pediatric intubated patients. The facility is a level 2 trauma center and interventional stroke certified. It also has a level 3 NICU, which serves as the regional transport resource. Responsibilities include managing non-invasive ventilation, conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, performing arterial lines, and oxygen management. You will conduct patient education as well as perform arterial and capillary blood gases and draw from lines. Experience in trauma care is required, while proficiency in pulmonary function testing (Spirometry) is preferred. You will work with unit systems such as Epic, Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, and GE Carescape. You may float within the facility as needed. Weekly work includes every other weekend unless specified otherwise. If assigned to work on a major holiday, you may be required to work. Compliance is required to start on time, and if not compliant, there may be a delay. All requests for time off must be finalized before submission. Holidays are predetermined, and requests may be denied if they conflict with the assignment.
