Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - $1,912 per week in Albany, GA

Description: Strict 75-mile radius rule applies. RRTs only. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience and 1 travel contract. Clientists will respond to codes, but respiratory therapists will be the first line in intubating patients. Therapists must be accustomed to high and heavy workloads. Interviews will be conducted with internal staff, and profiles will be sent for approval. No second interview will be needed. Therapists will provide an average of 550 minutes of treatment per shift, with an average of 15 minutes per treatment for 13-15 patients per shift. Charge RT duties are expected. Vents utilized include Servo vents (U and I models). In-house hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7. Pharmacy services available 24/7. Shifts can start at either 6:45 AM or PM. Floating is not applicable. Initial week will consist of hospital and charting orientation, with a gradually lighter patient load in the following days. Duties include all respiratory therapy activities, such as nebulization, airway management, vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, vent management, ABG collection, bedside pulmonary function tests, and chest physiotherapy. In ICU settings, therapists will manage advanced tasks such as A-line placement, blood gas management, intubations, and bronchoscopies. Common patient disease processes include COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, and cancers. Assignments will be based on unit needs. In ICU, therapists may handle up to 4 airways. An average of 11 therapists will work during the day and 10-11 at night, depending on unit needs. Floor therapists should have a minimum of one year of experience, while critical care positions require at least two years. Therapists must be able to work in adult ICU settings and operate ventilators. Training will be provided for A-line procedures, and therapists should feel confident in making suggestions for ventilator management and reading ABG results. Cancellation policy applies every 2 weeks. Charting will be conducted using the MEDITECH system. BSN is not required. Trauma level and care setting pertain to acute environments.
