Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 4 years License: Valid State License Certifications: BLS, CRTT, ACLS Must-Have: 4 years of charge experience Description: RRT must also be able to float to emergency and adult ICU step-down units. Mandatory on-call required for 3 shifts per 6 weeks. Respiratory experience required in airway management, medication administration, arterial blood gas analysis, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers. Experience in NICU, emergency department, and adult ICU is preferred. Night shift position requires ability to provide various aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies. Candidates will need to perform arterial blood gas draws and analyses, as well as manage CPAP/BiPAP implementation. Experience in adult and neonatal intensive care and emergency department is preferred but not mandatory. Attendance at monthly department meetings is required. If not working, candidates must read meeting minutes and acknowledge understanding to management. The work setting includes adult critical care, emergency department, and community hospital experience. Weekends required every other weekend and every other holiday. Candidates may float within the scope to meet facility needs. First-time travelers are accepted. Mandatory on-call will potentially require 3 shifts per month. Travelers will occasionally be expected to serve as team lead. Charge experience is preferred; however, individuals without prior experience may receive training during onboarding. Department has various safety and quality initiatives that candidates must adhere to and encourage. Preferred equipment includes specific ventilators. Candidates must complete modules within one week of signing their agreement (non-billable). Module completion is required before starting the position.
