Description:
The role involves providing respiratory therapy across all patient age groups, including neonates to geriatrics.
Candidates should have experience with various inpatient areas and cover multiple floors.
A hospitalist or intensivist is available in-house 24/7 for support.
There is a lead therapist present on each shift, ensuring guidance and collaboration.
Travelers will not be the only respiratory therapist in-house during their shifts.
Familiarity with specific equipment, such as Drager and Servo I vents, and Bipap machines like Vision and Respironics S/T, is essential.
Team scheduling is implemented with weekend requirements set to every third day for days and every other for nights.
Shifts may require rotation with permanent staff on holidays.
Floating to different areas within the hospital is a possibility while in the respiratory therapy capacity.
Three 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation are provided for acclimatization.
Successful respiratory therapists in this department will demonstrate strong time management skills, flexibility, adaptability, communication, and a willingness to learn.
The department fosters a collaborative work environment among respiratory therapists, providers, and nursing staff.
A radius rule applies, restricting candidates from full-time, part-time, or PRN positions with any associated facilities.
Requests for time off must be submitted upfront with restrictions on further approvals during the contract period.
Cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
