Description:
Recent Level 1 or Level 2 experience is required.
BLS, ACLS, RRT or CRT certifications are required.
NRP and PALS are preferred.
Fingernail policy prohibits artificial nails in all departments providing patient care.
Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to termination of contract.
Patients from neonates to geriatrics are serviced.
The role covers all inpatient areas.
A hospitalist or intensivist is in-house 24/7.
There is a lead therapist on each shift.
The traveler will not be the only respiratory therapist in-house.
Equipment includes Drager, Servo I, and Carefusion for vents, Vision, V60, and V30 for BiPAP, and Airvo2 for high flow.
Team scheduling is utilized for shifts.
Weekend requirements are every third day for days and every other night.
Holiday requirements rotate with permanent staff.
Floating to different areas throughout the hospital may be required in the respiratory therapy capacity.
Unit-specific orientation consists of three 12-hour shifts.
Attributes that help a respiratory therapist succeed include time management, flexibility, adaptability, communication, teamwork, and a willingness to learn.
A radius rule of 50 miles applies, and candidates may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any affiliated facilities.
Requests for time off need to be made upfront.
Additional time off will not be approved after submissions.
The cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
Charting is done using the EPIC system.
A BSN is not required.
Trauma level is 1.
Care setting is acute.
The division is allied health.
