Job Title: Respiratory Care Specialist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of critical care experience License: RRT credentialed with required state license Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Critical care experience within the last 12 months Pediatric experience preferred, but not required. Willing to be trained in pediatrics Description: This position requires critical care experience. Experience should include managing trauma and neurological patients. Candidates should be familiar with adult trauma and burns, both medically and neurologically complicated cases. The unit has a high volume of tracheostomy patients and patients with complex sleep-disordered breathing. Skills required include monitoring, ventilator management, and oxygen therapy. The patient population includes patients in the BPICU, SICU, MICU, and NSICU. The unit sees patients of all ages, although the pediatric population is typically small. There is a busy emergency department with ECLS transfers. Weekly work will include weekends, with coverage required every other weekend. The facility employs therapist-driven protocols and utilizes a variety of ventilators and special procedures. Experience with adult critical care and complex equipment is highly important. Candidates will be required to work all scheduled shifts as assigned. Floating within the scope to meet facility needs is not necessary. Candidates should disclose any background issues during the application process. Two supervisory references are highly preferred upon submission. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
