Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Cardiopulmonary Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Day or night Hours per Shift: 32 Experience: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in respiratory treatment of hospital patients. Experience with pediatric patients is highly preferred. License: Processes National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentials, CRTT, CRT, RT, or RRT. Certifications: Must pass BLS, encouraged to obtain ACLS and PALS certification. Must-Have: Graduate of an AMA accredited Respiratory Therapy program or equivalent approved by the National Board for Respiratory Care with an AS Degree. Description: The position involves providing full scope of cardiopulmonary services to patients of all ages. Care must be delivered with respect for patient rights and dignity. The therapist will assist in problem-solving across all aspects of patient care. Candidates should possess the ability to read and interpret physician orders, technical manuals, and hospital policies. Effective presentation of information and response to queries from various stakeholders is necessary. Candidates must be able to explain respiratory treatment modalities to patients clearly. Documentation of therapies administered to patients must be accurate. The role requires the ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. Familiarity with airway management, CPR, intubation assistance, and ventilator operation is essential. Knowledge of respiratory therapy medications, delivery methods, and indications is required. Candidates should be proficient in pulmonary function testing and related procedures. Experience with specialized equipment including ventilators, suction equipment, and oxygen delivery devices is important.
