Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: RRT Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent Respiratory Therapy experience with intubation experience License: Must have a valid state Respiratory Therapy license Certifications: Must have NBRC certification (RRT or CRT), ACLS, and BLS certifications Must-Have: - Must have a valid state Respiratory Therapy license. - Must have NBRC RRT or CRT certification. - Must have ACLS and BLS certifications, from the American Heart Association. Description: The Respiratory Therapist provides Cardiopulmonary Services. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for following protocols approved by the medical staff and department policy and procedures. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures. Delivery of medicated aerosols via medical compressed gas is a key duty. Maintaining airways and managing ventilators are essential responsibilities. Responsibilities also include insertion of arterial lines and intubations. The Respiratory Therapist performs pulmonary function studies. Cardiac and pulmonary stress tests and blood gas analysis are also part of the role.
