Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: NY state license must be in hand prior to submitting Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted Local candidates are not accepted (must reside more than 50 miles away) Description: The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy. They should have skills in adult critical care, emergency department procedures, extubation, airway management, pulmonary hygiene, and sputum specimen collection. The candidate will also be responsible for tracheostomy care and suctioning as well as medication delivery through both invasive and non-invasive ventilatory support. Proficiency in interpreting arterial blood gases is essential. Candidates may be tasked with performing occasional EKGs and providing care to COVID-19 populations. They should be able to work independently and adapt to a changing care environment. The position requires working with a diverse patient population, from neonates to geriatrics. The respiratory therapist will work in various care areas, including ICU, Emergency Room, and pediatrics. Familiarity with preferred ventilators, including Servo I and Hamilton T1, is advantageous. Strong troubleshooting skills related to mechanical ventilation and high-pressure alarms are also necessary. Compassion and proficiency in patient care are essential for this role. The respiratory therapist will be involved in routine medication delivery and will need to demonstrate flexibility in their approach to meet patient needs.
