Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Specialty: - Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ years of recent experience working as a licensed RRT. 1+ year of ICU experience required. Previous experience with ventilators required. License: Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license. Certifications: BLS - AHA, ACLS, PALS, Current and valid NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification. Must-Have: Active New Jersey license, willingness to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floor. Description: The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides and administers all aspects of respiratory care therapy and supportive equipment. This role operates under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services and Technical Supervisor. Responsibilities include providing respiratory therapy under medical direction. The therapist will assist with intubation and manage ventilator setup. Communication is vital: gathering information to evaluate patient needs and facilitating consultations with other healthcare professionals. Building rapport with patients and caregivers, as well as with team members, is essential for fostering an optimal care environment. Education and documentation of patient and caregiver needs will be delivered in an understandable manner. Additional duties may be assigned as required. The therapist adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Physical requirements include lifting, pushing, pulling a minimum of 5 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 1 hour a day. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong accountability for improving patient care and possess exceptional teamwork skills.
