Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 (06:30 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RRT license required Certifications: BLS, RRT Must-Have: Experience in Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and proficiency in specific respiratory interventions Description: Specialty position for a Respiratory Therapist. Shift is from 06:30 to 19:00, with weekends required every other weekend. The contract length is for 13 weeks. Candidates must have active certification and licensure. Skills required include Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department experience, extubation, intubation assist, nasal airway placement and suctioning, oral airway placement and suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care. Experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP, and CPAP is essential. Candidates should be familiar with troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation. Long-term care experience is preferred, as well as familiarity with patient diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, pneumonia, and respiratory failure. Candidates may be required to float between facilities as needed. Personal transportation is required due to the nature of the locations. The role may involve collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and rapid response teams. Individuals must demonstrate competent patient assessment skills and medication administration abilities. Experience with ventilator management and pulmonary hygiene is essential. Candidates should be willing to provide care to various patient age groups, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
