Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in a large critical care facility License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Must-Have: Experience in critical care. Not worked at any facility in the past year. Preference for RRTs over CRTs. Description: The Respiratory Therapist will provide care for general medicine, intermediate, and ICU patients. Daily treatments will be assigned using the AARC point system, targeting around 26-28 points. The primary ventilators used are Servo U, Servo i, and LTV. Bipap and Cpap equipment utilized include ResMed S9, and heated high flow uses Fisher Paykel. A team lead is available on each shift who serves as a resource without taking an assignment. Clientists and intensivists are in-house 24/7. Shifts are scheduled for 12 hours, from 0630-1900 or 1830-0700. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend for both days and nights. Holiday requirements involve working every other holiday. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating between departments is not required. The dress code is any color scrubs; scrubs are not provided. Department-specific orientation includes 12 hours of training followed by additional days with a preceptor before working independently.
