Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: NICU/PEDS Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy critical care experience License: NC license Certifications: RRT, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP Must-Have: Critical Care experience required. Previous experience in a Level 1 trauma center and/or high acuity organizations is preferred. Description: Respiratory Therapist - NICU/PEDS This position involves working in a fast-paced environment. Respiratory Therapists will be assigned to an appropriate patient care workload based on the needs of the department. Common patient types include post-surgical, pneumonia, COPD, asthma, and emergency department patients. Competence with specific equipment such as Servo U, Servo Air, The Vest, Volara, Aerogen, Heated High Flow, and cough assist is preferred. Experience in pediatrics with HFJV and HFOV is also preferred. Support within the department includes lead therapists on each shift with a teamwork mindset among the staff. The department is known for excellent teamwork, with leaders who have extensive tenure and experience. Travelers will work 75% of holidays. Schedule rotation includes weekends every other weekend. RTO requires manager approval. Scrub color is pewter (charcoal grey). No floating is required across different units.
