Job Title: Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current license in the state of practice Certifications: BLS from AHA only, NRP, PALS Must-Have: 2 years of Pediatric/Neonatal experience Description: Flu vaccination or an approved exemption is required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1. Prior Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care experience is required. Graduate from an accredited college program in Respiratory Care. Registered as a therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT). Demonstrates competence in assisting physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Implements appropriate respiratory care interventions and procedures. Identifies patient and caregiver education needs and documents patient teaching. Coordinates workflow by communicating to appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Participates in physician rounds and discusses patient goals and changes in status with the healthcare team. Documents patient care facts accurately, organized, complete, current, and confidentially. Demonstrates flexibility regarding workload and assignments. Follows all policies and procedures for infection control, safety regulations, and medication administration. Demonstrates caring practices in interactions with patients, families, and coworkers. Maintains equipment and assists in evaluation of new products and policies. Attends daily huddles and participates in departmental meetings. Stays current with literature and best practices in Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care. Communicates effectively and works as part of a team in various designated areas as required. Demonstrates proper time management skills and prioritizes patient care. Engages in continuous education and training opportunities. Respects patients' personal property and adheres to confidentiality policies.
