Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner Profession: Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT Specialty: Respiratory Care Duration: 26-week contracts Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Preferred - Two years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting. License: Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Certifications: Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Must-Have: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Must obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within three months of hire. Registered Respiratory Therapist credential must be received within 12 months of hire. Description: Under general supervision, will provide services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner. Care will be provided for all appropriate age levels and in all areas served by the department. Administers therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff. Records treatment information and patient treatment responses in their computerized medical record. Acts as a resource person to medical staff. Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients. Provides age-appropriate care to patients. Ensures that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained. Maintains necessary respiratory therapy records. Performs as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment is required. Clinical decision-making skills appropriate to patient care as it relates to the pulmonary and cardiac system and the age of the patient are essential. Ability to interpret the appropriate information to identify patient needs is required. Ability to work under stress is necessary. Good interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and staff is required. Some computer skills are necessary. Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program is required.
