Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Therapist Specialty: Respiratory Therapist Duration: 9 months Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: RRT License required Certifications: ACLS & BLS Required Must-Have: Candidates must have pediatric, NICU, and adult ER & critical care experience. Do not submit without this experience. Description: The Respiratory Therapist administers respiratory care by prescription of the physician. Responsibilities include the diagnostic evaluation, management, education, and rehabilitation of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. Duties involve obtaining and analyzing physiological specimens, interpreting physiologic data, and performing tests and studies of the cardiopulmonary system. The practice includes the application of technology and the use of treatment protocols across all care sites. Key responsibilities consist of the application and monitoring of medical gases and environmental control systems, mechanical ventilatory support, and artificial airway care. Other tasks involve bronchopulmonary hygiene, use of pharmacological agents related to respiratory care procedures, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and hemodynamic cardiovascular support.
