Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner Profession: Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT Specialty: Peds Duration: 26-week contracts Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: Guaranteed 48 hours/week Experience: Two years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred License: Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner Certifications: Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care; Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within three months of hire; The Registered Respiratory Therapist credential must be received within 12 months of hire Must-Have: Experience in a Children's-only hospital preferred; Knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment; Clinical decision-making skills appropriate to patient care; Ability to interpret the appropriate information to identify patient needs; Ability to work under stress; Good interpersonal skills; Ability to maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and staff; Some computer skills. Description: Under general supervision, will provide services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner for all appropriate age levels in all areas served by the department. Administers therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff. Records treatment information and patient treatment responses in their computerized medical record. Acts as a resource person to medical staff. Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients. Provides age-appropriate care to patients. Ensures that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained. Maintains necessary respiratory therapy records. Performs as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests. Performs other duties as assigned.
