Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Respiratory Care Duration: Nights Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Previous RT experience strongly preferred; Previous patient care experience preferred. License: MA License (pending acceptable) Certifications: NRP certified upon submission and hire Description: Reporting to the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Client/Sleep Disorders. Provides a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services for inpatients and outpatients of all ages. Performs respiratory care procedures in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Evaluates, treats, and re-assesses patients of all ages, following physician orders. Functions independently and assists physicians and nursing staff in the determination and application of therapeutic modalities. Assists in the orientation and training of respiratory and nursing personnel. Participates in Code Team and Rapid Response Team. Provides patient and family education. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives. Participates in departmental education activities. Transports patients as necessary. Assists the Director with special projects, equipment, and stock inventory control. Maintains and supports patients' rights to care, privacy, and respect. Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.
