Job Title: Respiratory Care Practitioner Profession: Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 48 Experience: Two years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred License: Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner Certifications: Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within three months of hire. The Registered Respiratory Therapist credential must be received within twelve months of hire. Must-Have: Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program Description: Under general supervision, provides services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner for all appropriate age levels. Administers therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff. Records treatment information and patient treatment responses in computerized medical records. Acts as a resource person to medical staff. Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients. Provides age-appropriate care to patients. Ensures that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained. Maintains necessary respiratory therapy records. Performs as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests. Performs other duties as assigned. Demonstrates knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment. Shows clinical decision-making skills applicable to patient care as it relates to the pulmonary and cardiac systems. Ability to interpret information to identify patient needs. Exhibits ability to work under stress. Possesses good interpersonal skills. Maintains a good working relationship with coworkers and staff. Some computer skills are required.
