Experience:
- Two years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred.
License:
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision.
Certifications:
- Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (American Heart Association) within three months of hire.
- The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential must be received within 12 months of hire.
Must-Have:
- Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program.
Description:
Under general supervision, provide services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner for all appropriate age levels.
Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by attending medical staff.
Record treatment information and patient responses in their computerized medical record.
Act as a resource person to medical staff.
Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients.
Provide age-appropriate care to patients.
Ensure that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained.
Maintain necessary respiratory therapy records.
Participate as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Possess knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment.
Demonstrate clinical decision-making skills appropriate to patient care as it relates to the pulmonary and cardiac system and to the age of the patient.
Ability to interpret the appropriate information to identify patients' needs.
Ability to work under stress.
Exhibit good interpersonal skills.
Maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and staff.
Possess some computer skills.
