License: Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
Certifications: Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within three months of hire. The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential must be received within twelve months of hire.
Must-Have: Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
Description:
Under general supervision, the Respiratory Care Practitioner will provide services for the Respiratory Therapy Department in a timely and efficient manner for all appropriate age levels.
The practitioner will administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
Documentation of treatment information and patient treatment response in computerized medical records is required.
Acts as a resource person to medical staff.
Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic testing and monitoring of patients.
Provide age-appropriate care to patients.
Ensure that respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained.
Maintain necessary respiratory therapy records.
Perform as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Knowledge of procedures and techniques of Respiratory Therapy and the operation and repair of respiratory equipment is essential.
Clinical decision-making skills appropriate to patient care as it relates to the pulmonary and cardiac system are required.
Ability to interpret appropriate information to identify patient needs.
Ability to work under stress while maintaining good interpersonal relationships with coworkers and staff.
Some computer skills are necessary.
