We’re hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in San Antonio, TX where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
  • Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license in good standing.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
  • Minimum one year experience as an RRT, with adult ICU experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Experience with ventilators and equipment commonly used in adult ICU settings such as GE Respiratory devices, Hamilton C1, and Philips V60 preferred.
  • Experience with Meditech or comparable EMR preferred.
  • Team leader experience preferred for candidates to be considered for leadership responsibilities on shift.
  • Ability to float to ICU, PCU, ER, and medical-surgical floors as needed.


Assignment Details

  • Facility type: Hospital.
  • Shift: Nights, 1900–0700.
  • Typical unit: Adult ICU and specialty/transplant settings.
  • Patient ratio: Unit uses a points model; typical workload includes 30–45 points per shift.
  • Equipment commonly used: GE860 series, Hamilton C1 ventilators, Philips V60 ventilators, EPOC point-of-care devices.
  • Procedures commonly performed: ABGs, bronchoscopy support, patient transport.
  • Team structure: Night shift minimum staffing includes a team lead plus two RRTs.
