Essential Function: POSITION OVERVIEW (RTT)
Under the general supervision of the GFCH Respiratory Care Manager, the Emergency Department Registered Respiratory Therapist provides services to all patients, including but not limited to those with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system to include diagnostic testing, therapeutics, support, monitoring, patient assessment and patient education. A physician order is required for services unless otherwise stated in GFCH, Respiratory Care or Emergency Department policy. Other services provided or coordinated through the Respiratory Care department include equipment processing, testing and maintenance, and education.
Knowledge of general respiratory care processes, procedures and equipment, applicable rules and regulations of Federal and State regulatory agencies as well as GFCH general and departmental policies. The respiratory therapist appearance, conduct and delivery of service shall be in accordance with the above. Knowledge and understanding of continuous quality improvement procedures and current projects.
Knowledge of safety and infection control regulations and recommendations.
