Job Title: Travel Respiratory Therapist (Contract)
Location: Pontiac, MI
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (with the option to extend)
Shift: Nights, 3x12s, 36 hours weekly

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel Respiratory Therapist to join our team for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have experience providing high-quality respiratory care in diverse clinical settings, with the flexibility to adapt to new environments and work with different patient populations. As a traveling therapist, you’ll be responsible for delivering respiratory care across various healthcare facilities, ensuring patients receive optimal respiratory support.
Key Responsibilities:Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct patient assessments to evaluate respiratory status, history, and risk factors, including vital signs, lab results, and pulmonary function.
Ventilator Management: Operate and monitor ventilators for both adult and pediatric patients in ICU, ER, and other clinical settings.
Treatment Administration: Administer oxygen therapy, nebulized treatments, and aerosolized medications as prescribed. Provide manual ventilation for patients in respiratory distress.
Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations such as code blues, respiratory arrests, and other critical care needs.
Patient Education: Educate patients and families on respiratory health, breathing techniques, home oxygen use, and medication management.
Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement respiratory care plans.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and interventions.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that respiratory equipment is properly calibrated, cleaned, and maintained according to facility protocols.
Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure: Current Respiratory Therapist (RT) license in the state of assignment. Certification by the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in acute care settings (ICU, ER, critical care, etc.).
BLS/ACLS Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
Travel Experience: Previous travel experience is a plus, but not required.
Skills: Strong clinical skills, flexibility, excellent communication, and problem-solving abilities.
