Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Inpatient Rehab RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 2 years of rehab experience and an active CA RN license.

Details

• Acute inpatient rehabilitation unit within a rehab hospital setting
• 7 rooms/14 beds with an average daily census of 10 patients
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Requires working every other weekend
• Floating required, potentially to Med-Surg and Ortho units
• Call requirements vary depending on patient census
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (compact license must be in hand at time of submission)
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Minimum 1 year of rehab-specific experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with 1:5 patient ratios
• Skills in IV therapy, wound care, tracheostomy care, and neurological/orthopedic patient care preferred
• Experience with stroke scale assessment, CVA, and traumatic brain injury care preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to inpatient rehabilitation patients including those recovering from stroke, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic surgery
• Perform patient teaching, fall risk assessment, and pressure ulcer prevention
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days and must be requested upfront at time of submission
• First-time travelers welcome, though a seasoned traveler is preferred
• Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility for local candidate consideration
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities as permanent, travel, or per-diem staff
