Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Respiratory Step-Down Unit position requiring CT/compact RN licensure and prior respiratory/vent patient experience.

Details

• Long Term Acute Care setting focused on respiratory step-down and chronic care units
• Primary patient population is respiratory-focused, vent-dependent patients in a medical, non-traditional Med/Surg environment
• 38-bed Respiratory Step-Down Unit with ratios of 1:9 (day/evening) and 1:12 (night)
• May float to like chronic care units including RCU, RCU2, SDU, and TRU, with travelers floating first
• TRU unit cares for TBI and medically complex chronic care patients with ratios of 1:7-10 (day/evening) and 1:12 (night)
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• RNs are responsible for IV starts, drips, blood administration, EKGs, med titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, wound dressings, trach care, suctioning, straight cath, foley care, port access, central line dressing, and wound measurements
• Ventilator management is handled by respiratory therapists, not nursing staff

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• 1-2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with respiratory or ventilated patients strongly preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
