Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment requiring RRT certification and BLS/ACLS/NRP certifications

Details

• Work within a hospital respiratory therapy department
• Provide care across critical/emergent, general, and diagnostic respiratory therapy settings
• Includes invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation support
• Performs medicated and non-medicated respiratory therapies
• Conducts arterial puncture, blood gas analysis, and oximetry monitoring
• Performs pulmonary function and other diagnostic tests
• 3 days per week, 12-hour day shifts (0530-1800)
• 36 hours per week

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification through the National Board for Respiratory Care
• Respiratory therapy certification or license through the Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care or Kentucky Professional Licensing Agency, as applicable to facility location
• BLS and ACLS required
• PALS required unless working in Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) as determined by hiring manager
• NRP required for candidates working with neonatal population
• No prior experience required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with respiratory diseases and conditions
• Respond to emergency situations including code blue and rapid response events
• Provide airway management including care of endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes
• Assist with advanced specialty procedures such as endotracheal tube insertion, arterial line placement, and bronchoscopy
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory therapy and disease management
• Document patient assessments and therapies in the medical record
• Participate in departmental quality improvement, safety initiatives, and meetings
• Assist with equipment cleaning, preparation, and maintenance
