Night Shift RN - PICU/NICU Experience Required

Assignment Overview

This is a 13-week contract position for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) handling both adult and pediatric patient populations.

Schedule

• Shift: 3x12-Hour Night Shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekends: Every other weekend (Friday/Saturday)

Job Description

The RN will be tasked with managing critical patient care in various settings, including PICU, Emergency Department, and Adult Critical Care, with the expectation to float to additional units as per hospital needs. The role demands proficiency in several clinical skills and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Blood gas collection and medication administration
• Ventilator initiation and management, including BiPAP and high-flow therapy
• Code response and in-house patient transport
• Perform chest physiotherapy (Chest PT)

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1.5 years of nursing experience required
• Active New Jersey RN license required
• BLS and NBRC certifications required
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications highly preferred
• Experience with Servo-I, Servo-U, and V60 BiPAP equipment
• Experience with EPIC charting system
