Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU/Pediatric position requiring 1.5+ years of PICU/NICU experience and an active NJ or Compact license.

Details

• 13-week night shift assignment with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Works in the Respiratory Care/NICU unit treating a Neonatal Critical Care and Pediatrics patient mix
• Performs blood gas analysis, vent/BiPAP/high flow initiation and management, code response, in-house transport, medication administration, and chest PT
• Utilizes Servo I & U ventilators and V60 BiPAP equipment
• Charts using EPIC
• Weekend requirement of every other Friday/Saturday
• Floats between Pediatric units and NICU, and may float to adult units on main campus

Requirements

• Minimum 1.5 years of experience required, including PICU/NICU experience
• BLS and RRT certification required
• ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications required, though travelers may obtain these onsite
• Active NJ or Compact license required at time of submission (if applicable)
• EPIC charting experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Provides respiratory care to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients
• Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Assignment is expected to serve as the traveler's primary work schedule
• Previous RWJBH staff must have a minimum 1-year break from the health system before becoming eligible for travel assignments
• Candidates float within their skillset as needed based on facility census and staffing needs
