    Respiratory Therapist – Outpatient Neuro/Pulmonary Diagnostics (Float)

    Contract | Days, 5x8 Hours (8:00–16:00) | Onsite | Float Position

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provides cardiopulmonary function testing for patients from newborn to 21 years of age, integrating emotional, psychosocial, educational, and developmental needs of the patient and family.
    • Independently performs procedures per national and departmental standards, including spirometry, plethysmography, diffusing capacity (DLCO), simple pulmonary stress test (6-minute walk), exhaled nitric oxide testing, metabolic testing, impulse oscillometry (IOS), aerosolized pentamidine therapy, methacholine challenge, and nitrogen washout.
    • Monitors and addresses learning needs, comprehension, understanding, and compliance of patients and families regarding treatment and testing.
    • Provides non-critical respiratory care including patient assessment, aerosol therapy, patient education, equipment management, and airway assessment and management.
    • Participates in care planning and implementation, suggesting alternatives that lead to desired clinical outcomes.
    • May serve as a departmental team leader, overseeing day-to-day operations of a designated clinical area including clinical, technical, and administrative responsibilities under supervisory guidance.
    Required Qualifications
    • RRT credential required; CRTs will not be accepted.
    • Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) experience required.
    • Pediatric experience required; NICU experience is not required.
    • PALS certification (American Heart Association only) required.
    • Active, valid RRT license must be in hand at time of submittal; candidates without a license in hand will not be accepted.
    • Must be able to successfully pass a Basic Windows Skills Assessment at 80% or higher.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with Epic EMR.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Enthusiasm and willingness to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
