    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide intensive respiratory care including administration of prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizers.
    • Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, and arterial punctures according to policy.
    • Assist with respiratory-related procedures including bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, chest tube placement, and PleurX catheter drainage.
    • Perform tracheostomy care, endotracheal tube insertion and removal, 12-Lead EKG, and basic arrhythmia recognition.
    • Set up, self-test, operate, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment; assist with preventative maintenance and repair as needed.
    • Accurately document all treatments, patient responses, and respiratory therapy charges; communicate patient status during shift-to-shift handoff rounds.
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Respiratory Therapist licensure or eligibility to practice in the state of Ohio.
    • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
    • Proficiency with invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation equipment.
    • Ability to perform arterial punctures and interpret results to assess ventilation efficiency.
    • Experience performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines.
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in a moderate complexity laboratory setting with knowledge of specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation protocols.
    • Familiarity with video laryngoscope systems for endotracheal tube insertion and removal.
    • Experience reviewing chest x-rays to identify findings requiring further clinical evaluation.
