    Job Title

    Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

    Location

    Charlottesville, VA | Acute Care (Children's Hospital)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays | October start

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including care across NICU and PICU populations
    • Perform neuro diagnostics responsibilities as assigned within scope of practice
    • Participate in a self-scheduling model; scheduling requests will be accommodated to the extent possible but a specific schedule cannot be guaranteed
    • Float within scope of practice to other units as needed per facility policy
    • Complete up to 16 non-billable hours of orientation modules, including specialty-specific training recorded in Workday
    • Adhere to facility compliance requirements including RTO limits (maximum 40 hours per 13-week contract period)
    Required Qualifications
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
    • BLS certification required
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
    • Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license required (pending license accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before start; must hold an active license in another state to be eligible for a temporary VA license; license must be in hand by the Wednesday before the start date)
    • Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
    • Epic EMR experience required
    • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Cardiac PICU experience preferred
    • Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
