    Neonatal Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist

    Key Responsibilities
    • Administer and manage medicated aerosol therapy including small volume nebulizers, breath actuated nebulizers, vibrating mesh nebulizers, MDI, DPI, and holding chamber devices; provide patient education on aerosol and inhaler therapy
    • Perform airway clearance therapy including clapping, vibration, directed cough, PEP, oscillatory PEP, high frequency chest wall oscillation, intermittent percussive ventilation, acoustic airway clearance, and cough assist
    • Initiate and manage assisted and mechanical ventilation including CPAP, BiPAP, NIMV, negative pressure ventilation, and NAVA; perform ventilator system checks and spontaneous breathing trials
    • Provide neonatal support including high-risk delivery response, surfactant administration, NRP protocol, T-piece ventilation, and participation on the Neonatal Rapid Response Team
    • Conduct blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation; perform monitoring via pulse oximetry, capnography, peak flow meters, ventilator graphic interpretation, and transcutaneous CO2 monitoring
    • Administer and troubleshoot inhaled nitric oxide therapy, heliox, sub-ambient oxygen, and high flow nasal cannula; support MRI and internal transport with assisted ventilation
    Required Qualifications
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
    • Active and valid state respiratory care practitioner license
    • Proficiency in neonatal and pediatric respiratory care settings
    • Experience with mechanical ventilation, airway management, and tracheostomy care
    • Familiarity with bar-coded medication administration and Omnicell medication cart systems
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with clinical care pathways including asthma, cystic fibrosis, RDS/BPD prevention, and acute chest syndrome
    • Prior experience with nitric oxide transport and neonatal rapid response protocols
    • Familiarity with HFNC protocols and portable transport HFNC units
    • Experience performing pentamidine administration
