Respiratory Therapist – Adult or NICU

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory treatments and assist physicians with patient care.
  • Deliver appropriate patient and family education, teaching, and support; document all interactions according to standard operating procedures.
  • Identify and communicate significant changes in patient condition to appropriate caregivers; perform pain assessments and respond per standard operating procedure.
  • Complete all required documentation including order entry, EMR charting, medication records, patient safety/incident variance reports, and equipment repair tags.
  • Disassemble, clean, assemble, and perform preventative maintenance on respiratory equipment; tag and route equipment requiring repair or safety checks.
  • Responsible for the transport of infants to and from referral health systems, providing high-quality critical care in accordance with established patient care guidelines.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Respiratory Therapist licensure through the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care, required prior to start date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), required prior to start date.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), required prior to start date.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), required prior to start date.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification through RQI Partners, required prior to start date.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in an Adult respiratory care setting or a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and standard respiratory care documentation practices.
